Career & Counselling

  Ms Kunjan and Ms Sucheta

The career counselling Department in the first semester of the academic year started with   Ms. Prathibha Jain, educational consultant for studies abroad orienting the grade 11 students and parents about undergraduate programs abroad. Following that we also had few University representatives visiting our campus to address our students about the programs they offer. Visiting faculty from Trinity College, Dublin were the first to hold a session, followed by our school organizing a Canadian University fair. Certain Universities like British Columbia, Waterloo, University of Toronto, York University, and University of Alberta participated in the fair. We also had the privilege of organizing US Universities fair and around 13 US Universities participated in this. Indiana University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of California, Miami University, Baldwin and Wallace College were some of them. The parents along with Grade 11 and 12 were part of this presentation. Apart from this, we also had representatives from the hospitality sector. i.e Les Roches (Hotel Management)  and  Ecole Hoteliere Lousenne (Switzerland) orientating the students about their program.
In addition, some of the  other Universities that visited our campus  included  Kings College ( London) University of Toronto (Canada ), Mount Alison(Canada),  S.P.Jain Institute of Management (Singapore )  School of Material Science & Engineering, Queen Mary, (UK),  I E University (Spain), Bentley University (US), University of Edinburgh (UK), University of East Angelia (UK),
Ms. Rupal Parikh, associated with British Council of India had an orientation with the students regarding the UCAS application process to UK Universities.
Ms. Prathibha Jain has been individually interacting with the students guiding them in their academic and career choices.
Another feather to our cap in our endeavor in facilitating admission to Universities abroad has been the introduction of administering PSAT to the students as well as our school being the test centre. 59 students from grade 9, 10 and 11 answered this test scheduled on 20th Oct, 2012 and we also had 5 external students taking the test at our centre.
With grade 12 students, juggling with their application process as well as the meeting the deadline of their assignments, grade 11 just getting acquainted with the IB curriculum as well as making themselves aware of the undergraduate options available to them, it wouldn’t be an understatement to say that the first semester has started with full vigor in the truest sense.
