Mrs. Vijaya Jegatheesan (MD COORDINATOR)

As Franklin Roosevelt aptly said, “We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.” Keeping this in mind, we in the field of education always have to be one step ahead of the times, if our prodigies have to be ready for the morrow even before today has ended. Keeping that as our guiding principle, we have been striving to set standards for the future global citizen.
This academic year has been characterised by the growth in numbers in the SIS community.  The SIS family is taking into its fold newer teachers and students. To give an extra flavour of internationalism we have three interns and volunteers working with children.
Continuing the tradition of excellent results, the Grade 10 batch of students have done well for themselves. We have had three students scoring 8 A * in their IGCSE subjects creating a new bench mark for the future batch of students.
This year new systems are in place and the students are achieving success not only in the academic area but are participating in a lot of inter-school sporting and non- sporting activities.
The House- System is given a newer dimension and the number of inter-house activities that are organised have been bringing out the hidden talents. Be it an Inter-house debate or Quiz, the students are being given platforms where they can perform and get an opportunity to polish the talents.
Our students aspire to go to universities in Europe, USA and Canada for further education. To ease the application process and help our students in getting into universities and courses of their choice, our own advisors work with the students in doing counselling. To further help our students the school has opened up a PSAT coaching centre at school and going by the response shown by our 9th and 10th graders, this is a step in the right direction
.
Speech n drama continues to flourish at SIS and this year we have added a dedicated Film Studio Room to our infrastructure. Our students are highly enthused about this and are eager to put up a show in March/April this academic year. Given the International nature of our syllabus and outlook to education we celebrated the International Day, which showcased the multi-lingual talents of our students who have taken up a course in either French or Spanish. Two languages which will help all of the students going for further education abroad and even those who will continue the same in India.
We are fortunate to see the transition that is happening to our students and take pride in the fact that we are managing to stay ahead of the times, and on track to prepare our youth for the tomorrow. It gives us immense pleasure to see our efforts bear the kind of results we have had not only in the field of academic exams, but also in the field of sports, debates, acting, MUN to name a few.
It goes without saying that we are not going to be content with these achievements and are going to keep raising the bar higher and set ourselves even higher goals in the years ahead.
