Championship Rules



OVERALL HOUSE CHAMPIONSHIP
Points to note:
1  Areas taken to represent All Round Education are: Major Games, Minor Games,  Co-CurricularActivities and Academics.
2)   The champion house is one which is displaying all round excellence.
3) To maintain parity among the various aspects of all round education, points have been standardized.
All Major Games and Academics components will get 8, 6, 4, 2 points to the respective houses. The total of various component of Major and Minor Games such as hockey, football, Conduct etc will further be standardized in the total as 8, 6, 4, and 2 to the respective houses.
All Minor Games and Co-Curricular components will get 4, 3, 2 and 1 points to the respective houses. The total of various components of minors and co-curricular activities such as badminton, T.T., debate etc. will further be standardized in the total as 4, 3, 2 and 1 points to the respective houses. 
The maximum a house can get from four areas of all round education is 24 points, if it were to come first in all the areas.
5)   In case of a tie in the positions, such as, Blue- 1st, Yellow-1st, then the next house will be 3rd.
6)   However, take the case of Major Games. On the basis of positions the house gets the following points : Blue 1st à 8
(6+4)/2
Yellow 2ndà 5
Green 2rd à 5
Red 4thà 2 
Notes on Sports and Games- Standards Cup:
1. There will be a ‘Standards Cup’ in athletics, swimming and cross-country.
2. The objective of the Standards Cup is to ensure that all in a house (except the medically   
    excused) will participate in the events, thus, displaying house spirit.
3. In the first event, all students in the various divisions will participate. There will be 3 standards 
    A, B and C. Those achieving ‘C’ standards will give 1 point to the house, ‘B’ will give 2   
    points  and ‘A’ will give 3 points to the house.
4. During the Heats those having ‘A’ and ‘B’ standards will compete leading to the finals.
AWARDS: 
1) Individual activity championship award. Eg: Champion house in football.
2) Major Games Awards
3) Minor Games Awards
4) Overall Sports and Games Championship.
5) Best in Co-Curricular Activities.
6) Best in Academics.
7) Overall House Championship.

INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Best Sports man:
Criteria:
1)        He / She should participate in any 3 major games and 1 any one minor game.
2)   H e / She should have participated in at least one interschool event.
Points Calculation For Best Sportsman:  
1)      Should have minimum 4 points (Participation - 1 Point Per Event)
2)  Should have participated in at least one Interschool event so getting minimum 8 points per event
3)  Award for inter house competition – 5 points per event
4)  Any award for interschool competition – 10 points per event
5)  Bonus Points (Any participation in distinguished Club /District / State / National Level) – 15points per event.
Best in Co – curricular Activities:
Criteria:
1)      He / She should participate in at least 3 co – curricular activities.
2)  H e /She should have participated in at least one interschool co – curricular activity.
Points Calculation For Best In Co- Curricular:
1)  Participation - 1 Point Per Activity ( Minimum 3 points)
2)  Inter school Activity – 8 points per activity (Minimum 8 points)
3)  Award for inter house competition – 5 points per activity
4)  Award for interschool competition – 10 points per activity
5)  Bonus Points (Any participation in Club /District / State / National Level) – 15 points per activity.
Best All Rounder:
Criteria:
1)   He / She should have secured at least a Distinction level in both terms.
2)  He / She should have excelled in any 2 Co –curricular activities.
3)  He / She should not have received any yellow or green card
4)  He / She should have excelled in any 2 sporting events. ( Major / Minor games)
